AISLING BEA WINS BAFTA BREAKTHROUGH TALENT AWARD FOR THIS WAY UP
At the 2020 BAFTA Television Craft Awards 2020 Aisling Bea won in the Breakthrough Talent Award category for writing This Way Up. She dedicated her award to “my dad, Brian, who didn’t get to be any older than I am today, and for whom I wrote the show.”
The other nominees in the Breakthrough Talent Award category were Aneil Karia (Director) for Pure, Laurie Nunn (Writer) for Sex Education and Sean Buckley (Writer) for Responsible Child.
This Way Up was a co-production between Merman Television and Hulu. It was directed by Alex Winckler and produced by Gavin O’Grady. The executive producers are Aisling Bea, Sharon Horgan, Clelia Mountford.
